The story is set in 1954 and revolves around two brothers (played by real life brothers Jesse and Alan Vint) and their one last joy ride before reporting for military duty. They pick up a young female hitch hiker before having car trouble. While stopping to have it fixed, they cross paths with Deputy Morgan. From that point the twists and turns bring us to the unforgettable climax. The movie is known for its blend of humor and intensity.
Director Richard Compton also directed the 1975 film Return to Macon County starring Nick Nolte, Don Johnson, and Robin Mattson.
The Special Edition DVD was issued on May 6, 2008.[1]
